Fifty Shades of Grey

Olvasd El Magyarul!

Degraded to be a granny-porn and a clap-trap. But its success is indisputable.
This way I couldn't avoid the influence of the media, and at my very first chance I was running to the library to get the freshly-printed book (note: it's worth to get on well with the librarians)

Everyone knows enough about the Hungarian translation- it is considered to be bullshit. But I warn you not to stop reading after getting shocked by the awkward linguistic tricks. In case you read it in Hungarian, don't judge the book by its translator.

What I really liked in this book was the real message among the sweaty sex-scenes. There's no doubt that a lot of women (and men) fell into the book because of the unusual way of lovemaking but I'm pretty sure that having some sex doesn't make the book. I have read dozens of romantic novels and I'm completely fed up with the story of the innocent, clumsy, but very intelligent and educated young girl (usually a university student or journalist) whose life is completely changed by Price Charming (riding a white horse, wearing uniform). At the end of the book they end up at least on the coast of a romantic island, hand in hand, or worse, at the altar.

Luckily, E.L. James has written her novel to be little more deep. After getting over the erotic and rough sex-scenes we start to concentrate on the personality of the male main character. In my humble opinion it was quite interesting to witness Mr. Grey demolishing the walls he had built up around himself and introducing the heroine to his very best secrets.

As I've promised myself not to be an asshole spoiler I decline to say anything else about the plot. It'll be your duty to explore it.

I'd like to suggest reading the book for the ones who are good enough in English to read a novel in its original language. The English version gives us a better reading-experience than the Hungarian one in which we have to go through the not-so-coherent and vulgar translation.

In case you liked it head towards the nearest book store (or download sites) and start the second and third episodes: Fifty Shades of Dark and Fifty Shades of Freed. Satisfaction is guaranteed.

Last reason by the book: the main characters have a very variable and enjoyable taste in music. If you're eager about it, look it up on YouTube: Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack.

PS: Rumor has it that a movie is going to be shot based on this book. I really hope that the director won't stick only to the erotic scenes and some deep content will make it to the audience.
